Playwire Review 2026 — What Indian Publishers Should Know

Clean own-account reporting and 1,243 publishers — and zero appearances across 123 Indian sites. For an Indian publisher that absence is the whole story.

Quick verdict

Playwire is a Google-certified partner, not Premier, with 1,243 publisher domains in its own sellers.json and a ratio of 1.05 on 26 August, which points to own-account reporting. It did not appear on any of the 123 Indian publisher ads.txt files scanned, so for an India-first site there is no local footprint to join.

1,243 publisher domains at a ratio of 1.05 — own-account reporting. Zero of the 123 Indian sites scanned. Google-certified, not Premier.

What they actually do

Playwire listed 1,243 publisher domains in its own sellers.json on 26 August with the highest ratio in this set, 1.05 — 1.07 (re-checked 15 Sep). On scale and reporting model, the two things that file can show, it reads well. Its current roster leans towards gaming and developer sites: 34 .gg and 49 .io domains.

Playwire is known for gaming and youth audiences. That is positioning I cannot measure from a seller file, so treat it as context rather than a finding.

What are Playwire's requirements?

Playwire’s FAQ sets a minimum of 500,000 page views a month for websites (or 1,000 daily active users for apps), a good footprint in English-speaking countries (USA, UK, CA), Google Analytics installed, IVT ratings no higher than 7%, and a secure Privacy Policy page. It pays Net 60 on a revenue share.

Reporting model

The ratio points to own-account reporting. Playwire’s sellers.json ratio is 1.07 (re-checked 15 Sep), the clearest own-account signal in this set, so your impressions, eCPM and fill should be yours to read. The ratio is distinct seller IDs divided by publisher domains in the company’s own file — the one thing you can check before signing anything.

RatioWhat it means for you
0.7 and aboveEach publisher tends to get their own account. Your impressions, eCPM and fill are yours to read.
0.2 to 0.7Mixed. Some publishers get their own ID, some share one.
below 0.2IDs are shared across many publishers. You see a share of a pooled number, not your own.

At 1.07 (re-checked 15 Sep) there are slightly more seller IDs than publisher domains — the clearest own-account signal in this set.

Is Playwire used by Indian publishers?

Not measurably. Playwire did not appear once across the 123 Indian publisher ads.txt files scanned — not as DIRECT, not as RESELLER. Its own current sellers.json names just two Indian domains, jrlinks.in and techlabsolution.in, so there is no local reference to check before you sign.

For comparison, from the same scan: VDO.AI 69, Affinity Global 42, AdPushup 33, Primis 24, Publift 23, MonetizeMore 18, Freestar 3, and Playwire, Ezoic and Mediavine 0.

Zero in a 123-site sample does not mean they never work with anyone in India. It does mean no Indian publisher in that sample has them in their supply chain, so you would have no local reference to check and no local demand already flowing.

What changed since the last scan

Re-checked on 15 September 2026: 1,243 publisher domains in August, 1,232 today — eleven fewer, a 0.9 per cent move. The ratio is 1.073 against 1.05 in August: 1,322 seller IDs against 1,232 domains, so slightly more accounts than publishers.

Indian domains in the current file: two — jrlinks.in and techlabsolution.in. For context, 34 of its domains are .gg and 49 are .io, which matches a roster built around gaming and developer sites rather than general-interest publishers.

Is Playwire worth it for Indian publishers?

For an India-first site, Playwire doesn’t fit: its FAQ asks for 500,000 page views a month and a good footprint in the USA, UK or Canada, and there is no measurable Indian footprint to join. It does fit gaming, esports and youth-audience sites, and publishers with US or European traffic who want own-account reporting.

FITS

  • Gaming, esports and youth-audience sites
  • Publishers with US or European traffic wanting own-account reporting

DOESN'T FIT

  • India-first publishers — there is no measurable Indian footprint to join
  • Anyone who wants a local reference before signing

How to verify this yourself

Four steps, no tools, about two minutes. Every number above comes from these files.

StepWhat to do
1Open https://playwire.com/sellers.json in a browser. If it 404s, the company publishes none — that itself is the answer.
2Count the entries. Each has a seller_id and usually a domain. The number of distinct domains is the publisher count.
3Divide distinct seller IDs by distinct domains. That is the ratio in the block above.
4Open yoursite.com/ads.txt on an Indian site — Playwire's own sellers.json names just two, jrlinks.in and techlabsolution.in. Search for playwire.com. A line ending DIRECT means a real direct relationship; RESELLER means it is being passed on.

I run an MCM operation myself, so treat this as a competitor writing about a competitor.
